Another Big Day Out – mid-week

Today we accommodated a couple of great guys taking a much-earned break from their 24/7 farming duties. The guys wanted to do the Big Day Out tour, which is normally conducted on Sundays, but were a little time-poor, so we did the tour mid-week, despite the iffy weather.
It was dry when we started in Coffs and rode out through Sawtell and up Waterfall Way (after a detour through farmland due to roadworks) to Bellingen for coffee. The guys were used to the bikes by now (they normally ride Harleys) and Chris commented on how the Guzzi would make a great second bike (We hear this often).
We continued up to the Dorrigo Rainforest Walk where the weather was cool, but still dry. The poor guys were getting phone hassled by the farm at times – you are never alone with a mobile phone.
At the request of Chris, we stopped at the Dorrigo Antique shop, but alas it was closed. Up through North Dorrigo, over the ranges and into a well-deserved lunch at the Coutts Crossing Tavern.
Tummy full, and we head out through Braunstone, south along the Orara Way, through Glenreagh and as we get to Nana Glen we met our first drops of rain. The guys took it all in their stride and we cruised back into Coffs.
A great day out, despite the damp final 30 minutes. Thanks guys…

Don’t miss out!
