Six days riding the best that the region has to offer.  From coast to hinterland and back again through winding roads…

Day one

Our first day is a big one as it mimics our Big Day Out one-day tour for most of the first day, however rather than returning to Coffs in the afternoon, the tour continues north after lunch to Grafton.  From Grafton we follow the Clarence River until we arrive at the immaculate historic Scottish town of Maclean where we spend the night.  (Tip – Check out how the proud locals have decorated the main street).

Day two

After breakfast we take a short ride towards the coast to the isolated village of Angourie where we stop for our morning coffee and a short stroll on the beach. After coffee we check out the fishing port of Yamba before heading north to Ballina where we stop for lunch.  After lunch we take the coast road through Skennars Head and Lennox Head before heading inland through Tintenbar, Alstonville, Clunes, and other quaint small towns before arriving at the lovely and somewhat alternative town of Bangalow for lunch.  After lunch it is a leisurely ride to the Australian mainland’s easternmost point at the hip seaside town of Byron Bay.  As we arrive in the mid-afternoon there is time for you to explore the region, and we suggest that you take a walk up to the light house for some spectacular views before returning to town for the evening.  We spend the night in Byron Bay.  (Tip – Keep an eye open for celebrities).

Day Three

After breakfast we take a brief ride north up the Pacific Highway through before we take a side road east to the Tweed Coast Road where we are treated to many kilometres of the beautiful Pacific Ocean over our right shoulder.  We stop at Cabarita Beach for our morning coffee and a brief walk to Norries Head for another photo opportunity.  From here we ride further north through Tweed Heads and cross the border into Queensland, where stop at the famous Coolangatta Beach, home to part of the Commonwealth Games in 2018.  Photo opportunities abound.  From here we cruise along the Pacific Ocean as we head into the famous Gold Coast region.  We stop at Surfers Paradise for lunch and some stunning views from the SkyPoint Observation Deck.  Here we are free to take a couple of hours to explore the beachfront and tourist strip on foot before we ride to our accommodation for the night at The Village B & B.

Day fourToday is a free day for you to explore the magnificent Gold Coast.  You may wish to take in one of the famous theme parks, such as Sea World, Movie World or Wet & Wild.  Alternatively, you may wish to spend your day exploring the region on one of the hop-on hop-off tourist coaches, or simply go for a swim at the beach, or sit in a café/bar and watch the world go by.  We stay a second night at The Village B & B.  (Tip – check out what shows are in town)

Day five

Following another delicious breakfast, we head into the mountainous twisties again for some spectacular forest scenery before taking our morning coffee at Numinbah Valley, bordering the spectacular Lamington National Park.  Heading south along and criss-crossing the Nerang River we re-enter New South Wales and stop for lunch on the Tweed River at Murwillumbah.  After lunch we ride south through the delightfully named Dum Dum on our way to Nimbin where we have enough time for a look around this famous hippy town.  It is here that we spend the night.

Day six

After breakfast we ride through more twisties south to Lismore for our morning coffee.  From here we ride west to Casino before turning south to Grafton for lunch.  From Grafton we ride down the motorcycle-friendly Orara Way through Glenreagh before turning east at Nana Glen to enter some more twisty road that makes its way up to the Sky Pier Lookout at the Ulidarra National Park for a spectacular view across the Banana Coast.  After our Kodak moment we take a ride down to the coast for one last photo opportunity outside the Big Banana before finishing our tour in Coffs.

The six-day tour is offered on alternate months throughout the year (except June).

The six-day tour is considered to appeal to the tourist who wants to see the best the region has to offer from the seat of a motorcycle.

All tours include the motorcycle, fuel and any maintenance required during the tour.

Morning coffee and lunch are inclulded.

We understand that it is usually preferable to bring your own helmet and riding gear.  However, we also recognise that if you are travelling from interstate or overseas it may be difficult to travel with your helmet, and as such we maintain a small range of helmets for loan to customers (without charge).  Please ensure that you have appropriate riding gear, which at the very least should include enclosed boots or shoes, long pants, a suitable jacket and gloves.  Also note that the hinterland can get quite cool during our winter months.

If you are flying into Coffs we can arrange pickup from the airport (without charge).

Quality accommodation (no camping, cabins, backpacker lodges or the like).  Each rider will have their own room with private facilities.

Breakfast, mid- morning coffee and lunch.  (It is our experience that leaving the dinner arrangements at the rider’s discretion allows a greater level of freedom and flexibility).
