In order to ride one of our Moto Guzzi motorcycles we require that all Australian citizen riders must hold a valid, current unrestricted motorcycle license. International riders must hold the equivalent in their home country, supplemented by an international driving permit.
In order to ride one of our Royal Enfield motorcycles we require that all Australian citizen riders must hold a valid, current unrestricted or probationary motorcycle license with a minimum of two years riding experience. International riders must hold the equivalent in their home country, supplemented by an international driving permit.
Riding a motorcycle anywhere is a potentially hazardous recreational activity. This is recognised by the flavour of the tour and the choice of motorcycle. The tour is all about cruising at a comfortable rate that allows for the enjoyment of the ride whilst taking in the stunning scenery. As one rider once put it….“This is the two-wheel equivalent of the current slow cooked food phenomenon… it’s about taking the time to enjoy the true essence of the thing.”
We will not ride at night (as it is considered too dangerous).
We will not ride at dusk or dawn (as this is when our local animals like to hop across the road).
We will not make you ride on dirt roads.
We will always ride at a pace appropriate to the conditions. So, if you want to go really fast and like getting your knee down in the corners then this may not be the tour for you.
Please note that all care and attention is taken by the operator to provide well maintained, roadworthy motorcycles. The operator also ensures that the selected routes comprise of sealed roads and avoid known hazards wherever practical. However, reality dictates that the operator cannot be in control of elements such as the weather, the safe operation of the bike by the rider, the behaviour of other road users, unforeseen road conditions and the like.
For the safety of all we have an ‘8 hours from bottle to throttle‘ policy. Of course, you are free to partake in a drink at the end of the day’s ride, or a wine with dinner, etc. We are not your parents. However, you will appreciate that for the safety of all, we just don’t want any rider affected by alcohol (or other substances) whilst operating a motorcycle.
All riders are encouraged to explore insurance options relevant to their own personal circumstances. International riders should obtain travel insurance that specifically includes motorcycling.
These factors are to be acknowledged and agreed to by the customer in writing prior to any tour.
