Dear regular followers, being mindful of the magnificent riding that exists just a little south of here we decided to undertake a reconnaissance tour to see if we could plot a new two-day tour for you.
From our base here in Coffs Harbour we head south, sticking as close as possible to the coastline, taking in beautiful spots like Urunga, Nambucca, Scotts Head, Stuarts Point, Fisherman’s Reach, South West Rocks and Crescent Head, before stopping for the night in Port Macquarie.
On day two we head out along that motorcycling mecca known as the Oxley Highway. From Port Macquarie to Wauchope, and then that magnificent leg between Long Flat and Walcha. Seriously, this bit of road consists of hundreds of uninterrupted corners through a spectacular mountain range for about 50kms before you emerge into farmland. This is where you hone your skills and grin like an idiot.
After lunch at Walcha we head north through Uralla and onto the historic town of Armidale for a bit of a look around. From Armidale we head east towards the Dorrigo Ranges, where we get to take in the west side of Waterfall Way, and then down through to Bellingen and ultimately home again….grinning like an idiot, satisfied and just a bit tired. Now where’s that glass of red?
P.S. We will be offering this new tour soon.
P.P.S I have some GoPro footage which I will share soon…
